Martial arts were historically not designed for the kids of today. More recently, research shows the importance for kids to develop in the widest sense, their motorial skills, and this especially in their early years. Focussing on one activity without exposure to others may transform those kids to be what we call ‘fit-for-purpose’, but for a particular activity only. Looking at athletes of different sports during the Olympics for example, will help one understand that athletes of different sports have different builds and physique. Weightlifters are different from sprinters who are different from swimmers and so forth. If kids are exposed to only one discipline that does not include for example running, skipping, catching, throwing, focussing, pulling, pushing and other movements, then the kids will miss out the phase of development that will then be difficult to regain. Educating kids is our primary focus when designing this exciting course. Our aim is to contribute towards building discipline, fitness and confidence, through karate techniques supplemented by other movement and coordination drills. We at Maltadojo believe that this course will prepare better your kids for life, for other physical activity, and for karate in its pure form later on in their teenage and adult stage of their life.
