What is Gendai Budo?

Gendai Budo refers to the Japanese martial arts after the Meiji restoration of 1868. Karate-do has a rich and diverse history of development incorporating many influences from other martial arts and cultures. The Institute keeps its focus on the research of karate methods whilst retaining and preserving the traditional values and virtues passed on by the forefathers of Japanese/Okinawan Karate.
